Some it reflects two things, one, the idiom - those that can do, and those that can’t teach, and two - that Republicans are more often the doers and Dims more often the teachers/eggheads/explainers/intellectuals/lawyers/writers/media folks.

I think it would be more accurate to say they are mostly Libertarians.
The data on medical doctors is skewed by one important fact - 50% of USA practicing physicians are foreign born and/or women.
The law used to be that most foreign doctors automatically qualified for a Green Card.
That law may have changed.
In many professions, the breakout is very similar to the male and female representation in those professions.For example: Urologists are only 6% female, Pediatricians are majority women. Even women who claim to be conservatives and Republicans often vote for the Democrats, to wit: 2018 and this year.
Occupations?
Republicans occupy a Cow Pasture and are attacked by the Media and treated like Anarchists. Then the FBI shoots one of them in the Back during an Ambush.
Democrats Occupy a City, loot and burn Private Property and attack the Police and they are referred to as Peaceful Protestors by the Media. When they finally get Arrested, they are either let go without Charges or they are Bailed out by Leftists using Gofundme Accounts.
