My apologies, I should have read up-thread before asking my question.
Not a problem, Oorang. Its all fine in my book!
Here is a helpful site to look up data about cities and towns that a real estate agent may not be able to say: www.city-data.com
The maps zoom in on individual zip codes and sometimes smaller zones than that, with detailed demographic info, such as avg sale price, percentage single family homes, percentage males/females, racial pie chart, percentage foreign-born, average commute time, education and income levels, avg temperatures and rainfall, etc. Many other features
Gary, Indiana!
What a wonderful name,
Named for Elbert Gary of judiciary fame.
Gary, Indiana, as a Shakespeare would say,
Trips along softly on the tongue this way--
Gary, Indiana, Gary Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
Let me say it once again.
Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
That's the town that "knew me when."
If you'd like to have a logical explanation
How I happened on this elegant syncopation,
I will say without a moment of hesitation
There is just one place
That can light my face.
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,
Not Louisiana, Paris, France, New York, or Rome, but--
Gary, Indiana,
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,
My home sweet home.
Texas does not have an income tax. Property taxes depend on the county you are in. Big cities tax the crap out of residents with no return to the homeowner. Rural counties are much better and if you have 10+ acres for most counties you can qualify for an agricultural exemption which makes the taxes very affordable.
We laugh whenever we hear that song. If you knew Gary in the 1950’s and 60’s it was a completely different place.
