Personal preference: I don’t like anorexic looking women. A few extra pounds don’t bother me. Obesity does.
The qualities we perceive as adding up as “beauty” are indicators of health. Men are designed to be attracted to healthy, physically fit women in their prime years of fertility.
Neither the anorexic nor the obese are healthy. A woman needs a certain minimum body fat percentage in order to conceive and bear a child. Too much fat is unhealthy too. There is an optimum level.
There is an ice cream ad popping up on youtube that has some porker prancing around while gobbling a pint because “she deserves it” or something. Shades of the Marlboro Man. I wonder if she gets to sue when she has to have her diabetic feet chopped off.
