As business savvy as Bezos may be, he’s also an acolyte of the radicalism that now threatens his business. He had the wealth and power to stop it, and instead he cast his lot in with them. For him, it’s easy: Move out. For everyone else the decision isn’t so easy. That’s really the problem with men like him: They destroy the political landscape with their failed political and social ideologies and make it impossible for anyone else to thrive, then when things get too difficult, simply move away to spread the same toxic ideology somewhere else.
Folks like him bring to my mind the Globe scene in the Great Dictator, where the powerful little man carelessly toys with a globe of the world, until he eventually destroys it. Oops. Oh well.
