Nice, thanks for the ping.
Now Mitch needs to get back on track & get some of the backlogged judges confirmed.
I believe there are 29 on the Senate floor ready to be confirmed (4 Fed Claims, 3 DC Ass.Judge -15 year appointments; 2 Tax Court; 1 International Trade and the other 19 District Court)
3 of the 5 nominees are Ivy Leaguers.
No offense to those Freepers who are Ivy League grads or have family who are grads - but there’s something poisonous about Ivy Leaguers.
I hope these nominees stay true to Constitutional interpretation and don’t suddenly decide to be a John Roberts or David Souter or William Brennan.
Yes, I know Scalia was Ivy League but he was a major exception and not the rule.
Thank you for the heads up. 3 new nominees for New York plus 5 in the hopper takes care of all the New York vacancies. It looks like Senator Schumer is willing to negotiate. Meanwhile 6 vacancies in New Jersey show Senator Booker’s unwillingness to even start a discussion. Reality check for Senator Booker: you got less than 32,000 votes in the Presidential primary elections through July 11th with $25 million spent.
