Is Kamala Harris qualified to be Vice President? Is Kamala Harris a "Natural Born Citizen"?
While she was born in California in 1964, both her parents were, at that time, recent immigrants. Her mother immigrated in 1960 and her father in 1961 (according to the bio in Wikipedia). So, there is a serious question whether she is a natural born citizen.
The old accepted understanding of "natural born citizen" is a person born of two citizen parents, so at birth has no other loyalties, or claims of loyalty.
Is that when they became citizens??
Kamala Harris is NOT a Natural Born Citizen.
And if the definition of Natural Born Citizen, as written by the Founders, obtains: then neither is Barack Hussein Obama.
And for that reason...the Swamp will defend Harris to the max.
When they moved to Canada, did they obtain Canadian citizenship?
Yes, she had citizenship at birth and it cannot be taken from her against her will.

Both parents would have had to have been citizens at the moment of her birth.
Anyone who cares about this issue will already be passionately opposed to her on a thousand others. The folks considering China Joe & MS Canada aren’t going to care in the least.
FWIW, there is good reason to believe NBC includes those legally born in the USA, regardless of parents.
But politically? You’re preaching to those who loathe Democrats from the bottom of their hearts already. No one who even knows that NBC might stand for Natural Born Citizen is even considering voting for her.
She was born here.
Since the 1870s thats been good enough.
Was Dukakis Natural born? I didnt hear this crap back then.
Obama was different dealhe came here as a foreign student. BIG difference.
No fan of Harris, but this is going to get real tiring over the next three months.
I hate to have to tell you it doesn’t matter. Because it doesn’t anymore. Not since the Kenyan.
> And if the definition of Natural Born Citizen, as written by the Founders... <
Where is that definition written? Its not in the Constitution.
Im not trying to be snarky here. Folks are always talking about who is and who isnt natural born. But no one seems to have a link to anything fundamental. So any clarity here would be appreciated.
No, no she is not a natural born citizen.
No, she is NOT.....
Not quite correct.
The original meaning of Natural Born Citizen was that the Father be a citizen at the time of birth. Citizenship was carried through the loyalties and obligations of fidelity of the father. The US was a paternalistic society. The citizenship of the mother was considered irrelevant.
This why Obama could not be a Natural Born Citizen. His father was never a US Citizen and was a subject of the British Crown at the time of Obamas birth.
I am wondering if there will be a “Net Scrub”, like back during Obunghole (pre-)Era (2007-2008½); info ‘bleachbit from anything).
Chairman Xi could already have a grandson he’s grooming for POTUS.
Anchor babies are just as eligible to be president as real Americans
“El Chapo” has twin daughters who either one could be POTUS.
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
The opening words tell us they must be a natural born citizen. Since no one at the time of our inception was a natural born citizen (ie their parents were British ect) they had to write exemptions for those there at the adoption of the constitution and 14 years a citizen. If natural born citizen equaled citizen then no exemption would have been needed.
It is clear as day. You must look at why they could not consider themselves natural born citizens. It is due to their parents not being American citizens at the time of their birth.
To be natural born is to have no possibility of another loyalty. Divided loyalties at birth is exactly what the founders meant to keep from being commander in chief of our armed forces.
