Braves owner Liberty Media disclosed the team’s second-quarter financial results Monday, revealing dramatic losses that underscore the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the sports and live-events industries.
The Braves’ revenue plunged 95% in the April-through-June quarter, compared with the same period a year ago, falling from $208 million to $11 million. The team posted an operating loss before amortization and depreciation of $26 million for the quarter, compared with a profit of $62 million in the same period last year.

Mike Ditka said he wouldn’t change how he felt about this issue:,
“You don’t protest against the flag and you don’t protest against this country who’s given you the opportunities to make a living playing a sport that you never thought would happen,” Ditka told TMZ. “So, I don’t want to hear all the crap.”
PS: Kneeling is a particularly inappropriate and stupid way to protest the death of George Floyd.
Anti-Americanism has ruined pro sports and I doubt the industry will heal without real reform.

I don't know how I can pass as Johannes Kepler. And I don't know how to find a suitably priced jersey of the Australian Football League's West Coast Eagles. I am in this fix because I have put away my Steelers gear and my Cubs shirts and caps.
I don't want to have to explain that I loathe the NFL, NBA, and MLB because they now support terrorists.
Major League Baseball has been in decline for decades with some teams faring far worse than others. Their pandering to special interests, including Communist Black Lives MatterTM, was just an attempt to extract as much money out of the dying sport.
As goes television like vaudeville, so goes major league sports.

...........if this is happening to the Braves it’s happening to other teams. I would suggest it will take 6 or so teams to file for bankruptcy before owners get the message. Just so they read it loud and clear, I say, and Trump agrees, that if you disrespect that flag IN ANY WAY you can forget about tens of millions in revenue. That’s the price for being WOKE!

When you have operating losses you only get a deduction. That means you only save in taxes a percentage of your losses, the percentage being equal to whatever your tax rate is for the period in which the loss is taken. So if you are in a bracket where you pay state and federal taxes at a rate of 40%, you only get 40 cents back for every dollar of your loss. In other words, even after the tax deduction you are still out 60 cents.
The drop in revenue is not limited to the park. The restaurants and bars around the parks are not getting any action so the municipalities are feeling the pain
