Lets hope they’ve learned their lesson and forsaken their liberal politics as well, although part of me thinks that’s a bit much to expect.
You know they do. Why are significant enclaves in places like Texas and North Carolina turning blue? Emigration from primarily Northern liberal-run big cities. But they never seen to make the connection between the fact that they moved from expensive, high-crime, high-tax, crowded, dirty shitholes to cheaper, lower-crime, much-lower-tax, cleaner Southern suburbs and that their politics caused the issues they’re fleeing in the first place.

What’s interesting - the NYC council members who represent black, Latino, and Asian eighborhoods voted for the most part against reductions in the police budget. The representatives of the wealthiest neighborhoods - the upper East side and the upper West side of Manhattan voted for the reductions.
One member representing the upper East side even voted against the budget because, he said, the reductions weren’t enough.
So maybe if all these rich folks leave, NYC will be left with those who are affected most directly by the crime. Perhaps they’ll elect some politicians who run on an anti-crime platform?

Before these people flee New York City, they should take a good look in their mirrors. The officials that they elected and allowed this to happen are a mirror image of the citizens who elected them. They remind me of the kid who killed his parents and then threw himself on the mercy of the court because he was an orphan. If they go to their new location and vote the same way they did in NYC, then they will screw it up to. The same way being DEMOCRAT.

The title says “NYC Moms...” because the article itself is discussing that demographic. I’d see your point if the article was also discussing childless women and/or gay men.

I feel bad for the out-of-state people coming here to pick up real estate bargains. This city is finished. Those people don’t understand the magic and charm of NYC; if they did, they would have come here before this. It’s gone now.
