Kiefer Sutherland has admitted that hes open to the idea of returning for more episodes of 24.
The star played Jack Bauer for nine seasons before the show wrapped up in 2014.
He previously said he wouldnt rule out reprising the role in 2016 and now Sutherlands admitted again he is open to the idea.
Ive always left the door slightly ajar for 24 if someone comes up with a great idea, the actor told Forbes.
As an actor, 24 remains one of the most dynamic experiences Ive ever had. Where a character was allowed to have such highs and lows in such a fast period of time is a gift.
There are very few setups that will allow you to do that, and I find that incredibly fun, challenging, and exciting. Theres been nine seasons, and I think it rests in a credible place. The difficulty is you dont ever want to do anything that is going to damage that.
Sutherland also said he wouldnt mind what form the show would take, whether it returned as a series or a movie.
Ive been banging my head against a brick wall for a movie for so long that Ive got a concussion, he said. Honestly, the form more 24 would take doesnt matter to me as much as the quality of the story.
If someone comes up with a great story that can be told in two hours, then were going to make a movie, but if someone comes up with a great story that could be 24 hours, well do the show.

NO THANKY LIBTARD KIEFER
Actor Kiefer Sutherland sees similarities between GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump and former Alabama Gov. George Wallace (D), one of American historys most vocal segregationists.
24 2020. “You must wear the mask!”
How about a Jack and Carrie Mathison duo?
Most of the Netflix produced stuff is so political correct that it's unwatchable.
And the bad guys will never be South American or Oriental or Middle Eastern or South African. They’ll all be Eastern Europeans.
They’ll bring him back these days, if they can make him the villain.
It is in Seattle, Portlandia, and college campuses where you will find calls for neosegregation and they are coming from Leftists.
Sorry Kiefer, didn’t you get the memo? Only blacks get to play heroes on TV and movies anymore. You could apply for a slot as a villain though, those are opening up and they’re all gonna’ be played by whites from now on.
Kiefer may be politically lobotomized but he’s a good actor. I loved the “24” series”. Couldn’t wait for Monday nights.
I’d love for the series to come back again. I hope it does.
Good Berkeley Law grad.
Maybe he can come back as the head of the department. You know, the guy who spends the entire series on the phone or yelling at subordinates, and then ends up getting killed in a particularly nasty way.
Don't have cable.
It was ridiculously awful.
Watched less than half.
I'm reposting my plot idea from 2017:
Here is my idea for a new 24 series that I posted back in August.
What they really should do is mimic the old NBC Mystery Movie concept, where they rotated between McCloud, Columbo, and McMillan and Wife and something else. This gave each show a month to produce an episode, which allowed for greater quality. They could rotate between different CTU locations, each with its own cast. Each weekly story would center on a different CTU (and cast), and each would face some terrorist crisis which would play out over the course of a week (within the 2-hour nightly movie time limit).
Prominent guest stars would be featured each week, either as the target or the baddie. Each CTU might have a different story focus. For example, the Washington DC CTU could focus on threats to the President, Congress, and SCOTUS. A New York City CTU could focus on financial cybercrimes, and Boston-NYC-Chicago threats. An LA CTU would focus on AsiaPac terror. A heartland CTU could focus on homeland and/or international intrigue stories. Or maybe make one a British CTU to focus on European stories.
Instead of each episode being one hour of a 24 episode drawn out story, make each episode a self-contained story that occurs within the week, and rotate the shows each week. This way, we'd return to the first team after one month for a fresh story.
Jack Bauer could become the Director of Counter-Terrorism and appear in all of the shows, sort of like how Richard Anderson did with The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman.

His band....well
His acting..well
If he was smart he would stick to cows. I heard he had a herd. Or many.
Personally I enjoyed when we (free republic folks) had ongoing threads regarding 24 episodes. Edward is still dead, Freckles is confused, Jacks daughter is so annoying, etc
Reboot?... bring it on... how fun we had 8^)!
The only way they would bring it back is if every episode had Bauer battling the Evil White Supremacists...
Loved Star Trek growing up.
A couple years ago, watched a few episode of Voyager. Unbelievably P.C. 25 years ago! And I never noticed back then. Other than to think it was just weird.
The left influence in Hollywood is real.
McCarthy was right.
I stopped watching before the end of season three, the final season. Every week the simpleton lib pulled out another liberal trope for the centrist president to get behind. When the previously-unmentioned transsexual sister in law popped up, Id had enough
