Hardly remarkable. Happens all the time in both directions. Part of it’s teen rebellion, part of it’s hearing the same bromides over and over, and noticing the weakness in the reasoning. My dad’s a lefto professor, though now he’s in decline. He was a formidable debater, but somehow my inner voice prevailed and I became conservative.
