Oh, it was you who posted the links! TY for the links, no TY for the false accusation.

If you search online there are some excellent posts on better reading comprehension, and others on smearing people while virtue signalling.

I'm sure the first thing a Klansman thinks upon joining is where is there a Jewish merchant where I can buy rope and sheets, Christian merchants not selling such things. Ironically the second incarnation of the KKK was likely inspired by the Mary Phagan League/Knights of Mary Phagan, the rebuilding of the KKK taking place at the same time and location as the lynching of Leo Frank. The Phagan league/knights primarily hated Jews and Catholics. Which the KKK adopted. I've no doubt a Jewish merchant would sell a Klansman a sheet, to my knowledge they dressed normally in their everyday life. The Nation of Islam is entertaining, until you realize they believe theirsmorgasbord of hatred.

Perhaps a personal motive as well. The system of permitting cotton shipments from south to north not only fostered civilian corruption, but military as well as officers shared in the profits by either facilitating permits or turning a blind eye. A distraction to running an efficient military campaign. To his embarrassment, his father, a successful leather tanner and trader I think, turned up in camp with his new Jewish partners requesting his help in getting permits to ship cotton north. Ulysses put them on the next train north, but this might have led to #11, which is uncharacteristic of Grant.

Ironically his dad claimed he needed the cotton to fulfill a contract to produce Union uniforms, which may have been true.

I recall from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird that some Klansmen sheeted up and demonstrated outside the home of the sole Jewish family in town, and the father shamed them by saying that they had all bought their sheets from him. It’s a work of fiction, but so is the Nation of Islam’s supposed outrage that the Jooos! sold sheets and ropes to the Klan. And since this is such an obvious sham outrage, I can only answer it with humor.

In a Jooo! store somewhere in Alabama:

Moishe, is the Klan’s order of sheets ready? They’re coming to pick it up at 4 pm.

Oy, vey is mir! I thought they wanted a dozen gross ropes! Now you tell me sheets?!

Host kein sechel nisht? When they’re going to lynch so many shvartzes, you think they don’t want to dress for the occasion?

Vad are ve going to do, Leibel! Four O’Clock! Vad are ve going to do? Let me see da note. Maybe dere’s a vay out!

Here. You better figure dis out, Moishe. Or dey’ll hang us maybe!

Leibel, you shmuck! De note says 4 AM not PM! Ven else vould a bunch of moiderers come to pick up ropes and sheets! Qvick! Vake up de voikahs and get dem busy. Ve can do dis ting!

I’m so glad you married my sister, Moishe!

Don’t mention it. She’s a miskeit, but vit a heart of gold.

A heart of gold, she has, but you got a brain of brass! Now let’s get busy!

4 AM: We thank you, suh, fo’ havin’ owah ohdah ready on tahm. But we didn’t ask for any sheets. Shloimie Pipick ova’ to Birmingham gave us a better price.

Oy, vey! Now ve’re overstocked! Vad’ll ve do?

Take it easy, Leibel. Dese t’ings also go good on beds.

Good day, sir!

Yeah, you have yo’se’f a good’un, too, suh.

WTF are we doing in da deep South, Leibel. Dese farfremde goyim will string us up, too, some day.

Prescott, 1928. Ku Klux Klan march in downtown area with M. Goldwater store in the background

Barry was 19. I bet Goldwater's sold sheets and rope. Doubt the KKK shopped there.

Muslims captured, bought, and sold millions of African blacks for centuries before, DURING AND AFTER the transatlantic Euro slave trade ended. They still have nearly a million black slaves in Africa NOW.

I don’t know how any blacks freely convert to islam. Its like a Jew joining the nazi party. Farrakhan needs cancer ASAP.

Looking at the picture I realize back in the day you could march and protest and not burn down the stores. All the better to make purchases tomorrow.

Yes. The English, Dutch, Portuguese, French and Spanish were in the transportation business. They didn’t travel into the heart of Africa, they had the local black and Arab tribes bring slaves to their ports. Then transport them to the Western Hemisphere, at the time called America. And 2% or 3% ended up in the northern 13 colonies. Original sin, for the English, Dutch, Portuguese, French, Spanish and all of what is now Central and South America, no harm, no foul.

And the West Indies. Survival rates were horrendous, because they always got more shipped, so worked them to death. Only in what became the US did enterprising plantation owners realize that humane treatment of slaves was good for their bottom line, because with very little encouragement, their chattels would do what comes naturally and breed more slaves, which allowed to grow to adulthood, could be worked or sold. Frequently, old massah would do some of the breeding himself when he was on the outs with the missus. All pretty horrible, but facts are stubborn things.

We also sold communists the rope to hang capitalism with. As good capitalists, what else could we do? Let our competitors make the sale?/s

If you mean his relationship with his dad rather than this incident, that’s probably a big factor. I believe his problem with alcohol began at West Point. I don’t know a lot about his father but have the impression they didn’t get along. Grant refused his inheritance later in life. As to the incident under discussion, alcohol certainly could have contributed, accusations of drunkenness were made during the western campaigns.
