Good for you. But the dirty little secret is that it is almost impossible for most folks to lose enough weight, so pills are easier.
About all we can do is aim at a modest weight loss, which helps quite a bit.
Patient has to BE RESPONSIBLE
Doctors are/can be a Crutch
It was tough when I fired my DR, I Like him, we go to the same Church he just is amazed about my weight loss... He is the one that started me on this journey when he made me (Ordered me) go get a BP Monitor... (I had really High BP) then I just started watching everything, next I got a Glucose Test kit and that probably saved my Life...
I liked the questions that my Vet asked me about my Dog (not a single question about Symptoms)
So I Fired the Dr that probably saved my Life. (He is a good guy)
PS We are still friends and I am still clumsy enough and active enough that I still request/require his skills and he still accepts cash ;^) I just don’t have a File or a schedule.
It's almost impossible following standard nutritional advice. That's because the nutritional advice is wrong. It's pretty easy once you follow a diet meant for a human being.
