First of all, you’re right about the name. Who the hell came up with that mess?
Second, storm is hitting here as I type. Lotta rain and wind but hardly a harbinger of death.
My cell phone and TV been screaming all morning. Cats are scared out of their minds. Says there are tornados in the area, get in a safe place.
We do get tornados in Delaware but most times they are little dust busters but man, gotta scare people more with our noise from our cell phones than the danger from the tiny whirlygigs.
The problem is(according to Asplundh Tree service)the company who Eversource contracts with to clear the power lines, they WILL NOT cut down any tree that is more than 8’ from the power lines.
This is especially true on all of our “designated scenic roads” in the state of NH. Like the one I live on in the southern part of the state. There is a large white pine(2 1/2’ in dia.) that is literally 11” from the pavement across the road from my house. It gets hit by the plow truck every year several times. All the bark is scraped off on the street side. There have been 3 accidents where automobiles have drifted off the road and hit the tree head on in the last 8 years I have lived there. The firemen said people have been hitting that tree for 30 years.
The tree is leaning over the road. When it comes down. It will probably take multiple power poles down too. Yet neither the town, nor Eversource will take it down, because it is still alive and more than 8’ from the power lines on the opposite side of the road.
Well, they have to invent some kind of "Massive Storm Crashes Into COVID-19 Ravaged Communities of Color - Trump's Victims Hardest Hit!" headline and they can't do that with a plain old thunderstorm. :)
Ya’ll hunker down!
I predict they'll open enough schools to get one last shooting in before President Trump is re-elected
was it covid related?
So whats next? Storm names in Arabic to honor Americas newest victim group? Names like Shauntavius and Towanda to honor our first victim group?
Indeed. The honorable Shiela Jackson Lee has long advocated for black names for storms.
Remember when hurricanes only had women’s names?
Then, they started alternating women’s and men’s names. I think this was done because of feminist pressures about symbolism of having only women’s names for hurricanes.
I never understood why hurricanes should be given a human name in the first place, but whatever.
I think it’s funny that the Weather Channel now gives names to snowstorms.
So we’ve found out.
There are a lot of trees in North Carolina.
Yes, what a remarkable similarity in among languages.
Hope you can at least say Jesus.
But Isaiah the prophet is significant to understanding Jesus, since the Old Testament memes Jesus and his mission in the New Testament.
Hopefully, it will strengthen, and then completely destroy NYC.
Yes. In fact, that is the Spanish pronunciation of the prophet’s name. I think it’s true— VERY FEW AMERICANS know ANYTHING about the Bible any more. This country DESERVES to be destroyed.
Isaias is the name of the book in the Douay-Rheims.
I don’t know what was so different about this storm vs. other storms.
The wave action combined with the wind and its direction made for some interesting times in the water in the new river bay near Jacksonville NC.
Boats that had no problems in past storms drug anchors all the way across the bay between the two Jxs bridges. The guys were able to get them out of the shallows and mud before the rest of the storm surge left. Another couple of hours and both boats would have been right offs. Crazy storm.
