I won’t use GPS at all. I use maps. They are harder to find but they are out there. My kids all learned to read roadmaps and all prefer them. I have noticed that some people with GPS don’t notice anything until the voice directs them to notice something, like a turn. They have not looked a map, even a google map on line and if they get a bum steer they get no clue before they drive into the cow pasture and finally realize there is no pavement under them.
I prefer maps as well. I am aware of my surroundings and look forward to making upcoming entries, exits, and turns. “Looks like my exit is coming up. Better get in the right lane...” It’s like a game.
