Years ago I read a article, maybe by Pat Buchanan (IIRC) about the effects of technology upon society. A key point was the information highway created by the internet with all the apps created, made our private lives less private. And that all this information could be easily accessed by the government and abused by whoever was in power.
The article used the term 'Turnkey Dictatorship" Meaning the apparatus is already in place awaiting for the totalitarian-in-waiting to step into power and use it. I scoffed at the time, thinking we have too many constitutional protections to allow it to happen here, in America.

With the advent of recent history, my faith in the system is greatly diminished.
The Left feels that Trump is a 'dictator' but he has only done with what powers and laws Congress has given the presidency over the years. They just don't like it when a conservative gets in the Oval Office.
The election of President Biden, who would just be a figurehead for the real Soros picked vice president would be the real power and that has the greatest pontial candidate to the 'turnkey dictatorship' against the (conservative) electorate
Witnessing the "chaos" that the Leftist mayors and governors to rule in their own cities only reinforces the idea that Leftists will do whatever necessary to achieve their 'utopia"
Be warned. And be armed!
“Years ago I read a article, maybe by Pat Buchanan (IIRC) about the effects of technology upon society.”
Buchanan also was prescient about political correctness as the ruination of America. What ... 30+ years ago?
