Why? For 4 to 5 hundred dollars you can buy a decent laptop that is far more convenient than a desktop.

I prefer a desktop because I have old eyes and a 24’+ HD monitor works best for me.

“I prefer a desktop” Why? For 4 to 5 hundred dollars you can buy a decent laptop that is far more convenient than a desktop. For the same reason that some people buy a pick up truck rather than a sedan or sports car. You get more for your money with a Desktop you can easily build and have control over what goes in it. And I like a 23" screen.
