Whoever that “someone” is, he just committed a major crime, unless he had permission from Inhoffe, and if he did give permission, he’s a snake. WTF is wrong with Robert E. Lee’s name anyway? Arlington is on his old farm. He was a brilliant general and an entirely decent human being. He opposed slavery to a limited extent, and ended the South’s rebellion when the cause became hopeless.

Not all states require two party permission to record. In Texas, I can record you without your permission.

Lee and all the confederate soldiers were pardoned by President Johnson. Confederate soldiers were authorized pensions albeit funded by their respective states. Why are we trying to revive old divisions from the Civil War? If those who were actually affected by the war could forgive one another and heal as a nation, why can’t we?

I was really pissed at Petraeus who called the Confederates “traitors.” You don’t pardon traitors, you shoot them.

And joined the war reluctantly on Constitutional grounds. The North welshed on their deal. The South wanted out, peacefully. The North welshed on that too.

Arlington Cemetery is Lee’s confiscated estate.

Why would Inhoffe put POTUS on a speakerphone in the middle of a restaurant?

All correct!

Donald J Trump joins another President—Dwight D Eisenhower—in recognizing the greatness of Robert E Lee.

Robert E Lee also saved Washington University in Virginia when he served as its President after the Civil War—its name was changed to Washington and Lee University after his death.

Now some of the faculty—following the misguided 2020 fashion of “cancel culture”—want to remove Lee’s name from the University. Of course, George Washington was much more involved in slavery than Lee, so now the university has a lot more consideration to do:

IMHO, they should leave well enough alone. Hopefully, after just a few years, “cancel culture” will die out, the pandemic will be gone, and Washington and Lee University can go back to being an excellent liberal arts-centered university.

Putting a phone on speaker in a restaurant surrenders any expectation of privacy.

WTF is wrong with Robert E. Lee’s name anyway? Arlington is on his old farm. He was a brilliant general and an entirely decent human being.

His brilliance as a general is based on his record of killing men wearing the uniform of the United States and fighting under the Stars and Stripes.

And the New York Times is aiding and abetting.

Could be. But Inhoffe @ Co. are true dopes if they do this regularly. Many of these devices can be easily eavesdropped on and recorded by pretty low grade spy equipment. Years ago a woman friend was using her portable phone to have some pretty x rated conversations with her married lover as she sat on her patio. Another friend collected a number of these from her driveway and the sidewalk in front of her house. Then gave her the tapes as a word to the wise. After that her pnonecons were nearly cryptic.
