I usually wear Danner boots, but when I wear shoes, they're New Balance. Figured out a long time ago that Nike just doesn't make them wide enough.

I have three pair of New Balance 928v3. They are very comfortable. I don't think they will ever wear out. Still look great after 4+ years. Not cheap, but they go on sale at www.shoes.com on a regular basis. They have a great insole and a torsion bar under the heel which prevents pronation and supination that helps with ankle and knee pain from misalignment.

Brooks is another American brand that makes some decent shoes. They are based in Seatlle and have plenty of the corporate generic social justice and climate change crap, but I haven't seen anything from them about BLM or Trump or any other political issues.
