As much as I would like to agree with the hate here, getting someone’s name pronounced correctly is kind of a big deal in terms of being polite and respectful.
The tone used on both sides was pretty shitty.
But if you are going to dump on someone, get their name right.
I’d agree with your statement. Take the high road in the debate but yet slam them to the ground.
+1
If I was paid a dollar for every time my surname was mispronounced, even by those who have known me for over 20 years, I’d be a very wealthy man.
Is you name Vomit?
Go into an urban high school and call the role, watch the eyes role hatred your way (because you didn’t pronounce the name correctly), then get back to me. Here is a list of some of my students’ names this semester. See how many you can get right the first time through (I’ve only given you first names, so this should be easy):
Jimena
ShyYonna
Malayjah
Asiya
Maikol
Jamarion
Ramiyah
Dumarius
Shamia
Kaisia
Ala’zja (10 extra points)
Jaymz-Anthony
Tammara (careful, tricky)

But some on the left go out of their way to mispronounce Rush Limbaugh’s nameusually going for ‘Lim-bow’. This isn’t ignorance, this is a lame attempt to belittle.
