CNN wasn't supposed to say anything about the terms of the agreement. Stelter retweeting this, whether it's true or not, is clearly making a commentary on the terms. He should probably be fired within the next couple of days. Normally, an employee that makes that kind of unforced error loses his job. There's a possiblity CNN thought they could sneak it into the narrative without claiming ownership by making it a retweet, but it's pretty stupid to do it through an employee rather than just having some of their twitter bots get it to trend.
