Social media don't even control 1% of the Internet. Have you even heard of the darkweb etc?
Nobody can control any information once it gets on the Internet. It's there forever. I can watch that press conference from the doctors whenever I want.
While that may be true(or another made-up statistic), it is categorical error to assume that volume somehow equals influence, when around 80% of the population have social media accounts.
While you can scream with Mr. Universe that "You can't stop the signal," social media is a primary source of information for most people, and none of them are going on the dark web.
Twitter is a minor platform, but President has used it masterfully to get his views to the people without filters. This private policing of the Internet is more insidious than the government. While you may be adept at ferreting out whatever you may need, assuming such a competence by the masses displays a marked misunderstanding of human nature.
I don't care if there are twenty-million instances of the press conference sitting all over the place. It's immaterial.
The fact that Twitter and YouTube feel they can censor a sitting president should terrify you.
