while tourism infuses much-needed cash into local coffers, it also potentially exposes residents to coronavirus.

Ok. And what intellectual giant failed to predict this?

The dumbing down of civilization.

My daughter went to Yellowstone a couple of weeks ago. She said it was really crowded and lamented that their vacation was a bust and they were heading home.

I told her there are lots of places out that way that you can find a wide spot in a forest service road and camp.

Two weeks later they made it back home. Finding out-of-the-way places with day hikes, hot springs, etc. Jackson Hole was/is one of my favorite places. Skied and hiked there every year in the late 70’s, early 80’s. I’m guessing it has changed a bit since then!

They tried to get down there from Yellowstone but it was one huge traffic jam.

My wife and I were talking about hitting a few states that I’d never been to.

(I travel frequently for work and have hit about 40 states)

Dakota’s, Wyoming and Utah are on my never been list. Maybe we’ll hit Jackson Hole for a day.

“Under $300.00 round trip flights to Jackson Hole, that use to be around $1,000.00 is a reason”

12 years ago when I went to Yellowstone I didn’t even realize Jackson Hole had an airport. I checked rates back then and like you said the prices were sky high. Not a $1000, but I was checking from L.A. For $hits and Giggles I just checked again, $189 round trip. Damn, kinda wanna go back, this time spend a bit of time in Montana. I would like to check out Little Big Horn and Glacier National Park.

Just rode through there a couple of weeks ago on a 3-week Rockies motorcycle tour and Jackson was PACKED - total traffic jam getting through that town. We went over the pass and stayed in Idaho Falls instead.

“Translation: How dare the unwashed masses come to Jackson Hole and disturb the privileged, elitist liberal politburo who have divine right and sole domain to any space they demand.”

LOL! I had to post and fly yesterday, but that is exactly what I got from this piece, too! ;)
