Here’s the real-world scenario: Every time a riot is declared, insurance will not pay damages.

I’m guessing that commercial real estate in Portland & Seattle is at its breaking point (or near it), but if insurance is relegated to high-risk carriers like Lloyd’s, it will be the straw that breaks its back.

Any active FReeper commercial insurance agents in the NW with inside skinny as to what the carriers are doing to policies and rates?

Shortly after 9-11, I got a letter at my shop from my insurance carrier.

The letter noted/reminded me that the shop was not covered by acts of war or terrorism or civil disobedience.
