I don’t think I ever heard any politics mention by him. So if anything he was a professional if he was a Democrat. My first exposure to him was as a kid growing up in St. Louis he did a weekly show. The one thing you can say about Regis is he was definitely a hard-working showman.
During the early 1970s, Philbin also commuted each weekend to St. Louis, where he filmed Regis Philbin’s Saturday Night in St. Louis[25] on KMOX-TV (now KMOV).
