Everything you say the Chinese can do is of course possible and I say this because I believe little if anything is completely impossible. That said any measures taken by them can of course be countered by us and we revert back to my position.
That said your final point on the importance placed on human life by us vs them is valid and in that area the Chinese are winners (or losers).

I simply asked you how you would know we have not continued to advance our technology while China has.

In my case I believe we are at a minimum 15 years ahead of the Chinese in almost if not all areas of weapons development and we would be 30 yrs ahead if the scumbag Clinton hadn’t allowed his good buddy and top donor Bernie Schwartz (LORAL SPACE CEO) to sell missile technology to the Chicoms. This allowed them to advance their targeting and throw weight capability by 15 years by some estimations.
LORAL paid a $14,000,000 fine even though the tech transfer was authorized by Clinton.
I don’t think what Loral sent to China means that China is behind us, what it means is that China is working

I can't say I know and neither can you. What I can tell you is that whenever there is a release of info re our new weapons systems you can bet that technology is already obsolete. However from what little experience I have as ex military (USAF with some work in OSI) I can say from speaking with people who do know that we are still several years ahead of any other world power.
Keep in mind when it comes to innovation the Chinese basically suck since they depend on stealing technology.

No not invincible but at this time unbeatable if assuming the enemy wants to engage and survive in some form. And btw you have no idea what China spends on their military you only know what they say they spend. You also don't know what we spend since there are often off budget/black items which are never shown in the budget.

I really don’t care what is spent as I know it’s meaningless, but I do care which countries are deploying new weapons, and we’re not doing jack - but if people need to assume that we’re doing everything in secret to get to sleep at night, I understand that too. But I STILL remember the 1980s, when I could name half a dozen major weapons systems that Reagan was building - what are our major new weapons systems now, a new bomber that will fly in 2040, perhaps?

It doesn’t work because China doesn’t allow non-Chinese in any concerning capacity within China. We allow Chinese to run most everything here, in part due to our fear over “racism.”
Sure, we can try to bribe Chinese to help, but we can’t get true “trusted” sources in such places.

Listen, I enjoy a good give and take as much as anyone but trying to debate you is simply not possible because you can’t seem to grasp the most basic of realities.
How would I know what our “new” major weapons systems are besides what is available in the media? Do you? Of course not. You seem to think when a new offensive or defensive ability is tested and approved for deployment the military issues a press release. How dumb is that? Why on earth would we broadcast our offensive or defensive capability to an enemy? All that does is give them the opportunity to develop their own weapon to counter ours.
The release of (military) information by a government is psyops and you will recall that Reagan used this in his Star Wars propaganda directed at the Soviets and broke the bank (theirs) as they desperately tried to keep up.
I don’t know where you get your ideas but they are not close to reality.
