That story about the Holliman AFB landing has been around for years but the claimed film clip has never surfaced. There is good reason to believe though that at a deep level, the US government influences Hollywood's stories and themes on subjects that impinge national security. The best evidence for this as to UFOs mostly dates to the 50s, but with little reason to think that the relationship is no longer true.

As for Close Encounters, the absence of strong official US government pushback on the storyline is intriguing but should not be mistaken for conclusive evidence. Similarly, although Ronald Reagan was delighted in the movie when he had it previewed at the White House, it is hard for now to know what to make of his supposed wink of the eye and quip to Spielberg that they were among the few who knew the truth of the story. The Gipper was going senile and always saying things like that, right?

Nancy had read his horoscope and senility was not in the stars yet.

For the rest of us, it was just more of the BS flying around from the Democrats and their media. And to some of us, Reagan was not a hero, but rather the bad man who destroyed a good portion of the commercial fishing industry, causing many of us to suffer loss of family, income and life, to satisfy the Democrats and wacko environmentals.
