BTW do you fill up your glass with ice and then with Coke, or Sprite, etc. If you do you get lots of ice but very little soft drink. Think about it.
Looking for boots/shoes in Walmart

As a kid we had Holiday which was bigger than any walmart Ive ever been too, sears, montgomery wards, kmart, ben franklin, jollys toy store, roses, kreskies, etc. walmart has monopolized the whole sha-bang but in no way did the support the community or give the service we got when I was growing up. oh and JCPENNEY too. kinda liked shopping with mom back then always got burgerking and maybe 25 cents for candy at sears.
Im aware of that. But sometimes, its the mix we like.
AND the cold. Trust me, they do not stay cold w/o ice. My parents didnt like it.
My DH doesnt like ice, but he has a complex because he choked on it as a kid, not because of dilution. He can put up with it getting warmer but it DOES get warmer, otherwise totally dependent on constant refrigeration of his bottles.
Which BTW we lost for a month until a few weeks back. Lived off ice bags and a small college fridge but that didnt help his habit much.
I am sure you have seen pictures of people with carts full of toilet paper that would last them for 5 years.
>>Yep as a business you can only provide/supply what the
customers can afford to buy. Otherwise you are a store
with lots of expensive items that the shoppers cant
buy. If the customers spendable rises I bet the items
for purchase would increase also.<<
Of course. But they do have Chedraui’s which is huge and carries higher and lower level items (most are 2 - 3 floors).
I was just noting that even when they DO have Walmarts, they are not Walmarts as Americans know them.
What I miss most about living overseas are sights like this:
Church, not Walmart should be the center of focus of any town.
I understand why shelves are empty right now, but as I stated in my original post, I've been seeing empty shelves for several decades now. Walmart has been in a slow decline during that time. I can remember when I'd go to Walmart for 10 items and I'd find nine or ten of them in stock. But recently, even before Covid, I'd consistently find only five or six out of 10 items on the shelf.
See my post #29. So true.
I’ve spent half of my life living and working abroad, but live in O.C. at the moment. No matter where I live, though, I do always miss Walmart and Costco if they’re not available.
Funny because the 2 Wal-Mart’s I have access to have not restocked home good shelves for quit a while. The clothing departments are minimally stocked with ugly poorly made clothing. I have looked for months to find a pair of men’s sweat pants - they just don’t have any. Food choices are iffy in store and on line. It’s the same for the Fred Meyer here too. I was thinking how 3rd world my stores have become.....
Currently, I find it easy to “mask” my appreciation for Wally-World.
Here in Clarksville TN the tax is over 9%. I do remember when the tax was only 4 percent, but that was in 1967.
Yep, the production/supply chain has been disrupted severely
during this pandemic. Shows how world wide things have become.
The author must not have paid attention and got it to close to her head, is the only thing I can think of.
