Supposedly Matt Drudge and Trump were good friends up until a year or so ago. Drudge spent time at Mar-A-Lago and the two often golfed together. They they had a huge falling out over immigration. Drudge, who is a good friend of Ann Coulter, parroted her view that Trump was becoming a failed President because he wasn't doing enough fast enough on immigration and building the wall, (which was a bit unfair in my opinion because there is really little he can do without Congress). So Drudge started running a few negative stories criticizing Trump on immigration, then Trump came out and blasted Drudge saying his site was failing and losing viewers in droves. At which point Drudge went full anti-Trump 24/7 nuclear and has been so ever since.

If this version of events is true, it seems pretty petty on Drudge's part. If he is really a conservative and if he really does want something done about immigration it seems he's cutting off his nose to spite his face by trying to destroy Trump.

“he’s cutting off his nose to spite his face by trying to destroy Trump”

Yeah, there’s a lot of that going on.

Coulter used to have some sense. But her fixation on trying to get Trump to act imperiously was odd. It was like she aligned with Obama and the Democrats in promoting the Presidency to a kingship. Weird, in my opinion.

That IS petty. But I feel the same way the writers of National Review and Jonah Goldberg have gone on Trump. They hate him so much they are blindly helping Biden win.
