I never met Conway, but had the pleasure of meeting John Hughey, his steel player, a couple of times. What a great guy, and iconic player!

He went on to back Vince Gill for years - listen to “Look At Us” - THAT is John Hughey!

When I met him he asked me where I was from, I said ‘ a little town called Millington, north of Memphis’

He said he had been there, he played a bar there many times with Harold before he became Conway. A little bar on the highway, all he could remember were a bunch of military guys there LOL. Ya, we are a military town.
A super nice guy, and great pedal steel talent. One of a kind, glad Vince picked him up!

But hey, the whole joke and punchline is in the title, thought a good laugh was in order :-D
