I bet they just welded and repainted the defective jackstands and put them right back in the stores.
It was a different issue between the two recall batches. In the first the vertical arm with the serrated casting notches was bad, resulting in stands that would “set” and then collapse.
The second recall had to do with stands that had defective welding.
