To update it for the times, why is it today you can say people of color but you can’t say colored people?

how about it.

I read a story about - true or not who knows, about an old black guy being chastised by a younger guy for allowing himself to be called “colored”.
Old guy said something to the effect of “better than what they called me before I became “colored”.
