I think it’s “good victuals” (food)
Fiddlin’ was big in the 1850s. Many of the cowboys were amateur musicians. Lewis and Clark had two fiddles along on their expedition. No one knows what happened to those instruments.
Victuals is the proper word, “vittles” became the Americanized slang pronunciation. General term referring to food. Still in use at times when I was a kid.
Don’t ask me how the instrument properly named “violin” eventually became Americanized into “fiddle”...never looked that one up...
I was wondering about that when I copied the lyrics. LOL.
