Last year they were continually tagging twice a week.
So far weekly tagging is a lot less.
The big white shark tagging months in Mass. are coming up in August, September, and October. -Tom
I wish the shark-HUNTERS/taggers WELL.

The island in the Isle of Shoals I was referring to is actually Duck Island not Seal Island.
FYI, Appledore is the big island with the UNH/Cornell marine research lab on it. There are also several private homes on Appledore owned mostly by fishermen.
Star Island is the other big island with the hotel/retreat on it owned by Unitarian Church. This is the island that the Thomas Layton Ferry goes to multiple times a day.
Cedar Island and Smuttynose form the harbor between Star and Appledore. There is a small house on Cedar owned by a Lobster fisherman. This is a great place to buy a lobster roll.
Smuttynose has one small shack on it that is been the subject of many pieces of artwork, books, movies and the label of a local ale. This island must have a thousand nesting seagulls on it during the summer. If you venture more than 40’ from the spot where you can beach a dingy you will get dive bombed by every mama seagull/turn. I am speaking from experience.
White Island is the rock with the light house.
Lunging Island, also known as Honeymoon Island is owned by someone from MA. There are two houses on the island.
To the north is another cluster of small islands. The largest is Duck Island. This is where all the seals have their pups. It is protected by Federal law.
So I see you've been paid off by the sharks, who don't wear masks! (Do I really need /s)
Today, July 21,2020, Ballston Beach Truro, on Cape Cod was closed for swimming when white a shark was spotted close to shore.
In 2014 a swimmer at Ballston beach was attacked there and taken to the Hospital and survived. -Tom
But I will maintain my defiant attitude.
“Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And he shows them pearly white...”
No doubt given the expanding protected seal population throughout New England, white sharks will be in all New England waters. -Tom,

Sulikowski Lab @SulikowskiLab · Jul 26 This seal was found on the beach in Phippsburg, Maine. Wound/bite radius approximately 19 inches. In collaborations with the @a_whiteshark and @gregskomal we are continuing research in southern Maine on white sharks. We will keep everyone updated!
I for one applaud efforts to vaccinate against sharks. I'd feel a lot safer going into the surf knowing I had the shot.
Tom,
Do you have a link to that article from Phippsburg?
That is up by Boothbay, up by the Bath Iron works.
If these sharks are from Florida I hope they are self quarantined for two weeks after arrival. /sarc
Ill be on the beach, waving at you as you boldly plunge through the surf to test Dr Faucis new shark vaccine.
He did pitch a no hitter.
There would be severaL by now- copy and paste below

It appears there has been a shark attack in Maine this afternoon, Monday. July 27, so news should be breaking shortly with details. -Tom
7:15 PM Just got a call from a knowledgeable shark biologist who said it was a FATAL attack on a woman who was dead when they got her ashore.- Tom
I've seen a bullshark almost beach himself chasing a school of mullet.
And if the only thing that accomplishes is increasing the seal and shark population?
Maine? Yikes! That is unusual. I am sorry for the family, as they must be totally shocked and grieved by this.
Whats wrong with an increasing seal population?
