Ageing whites don’t like to hear it, but many of the things that were important to them mean nothing to most people in the West today. These riots show one aspect of that, but more importantly, general ignorance of ANYTHING 55 years ago is commonplace.
A young relative I had considered “smart” spouted that blacks were only allowed to vote in 1960; like many young people, he knows little about anything that existed before him.
