The Beatles were superstars in England way before they did the Ed Sullivan show in February 1964. Arguably the most talented band in rock history.

However, I prefer their pre-1967 output to their post Sgt Pepper output. When they stopped touring, I think some of their creative fire went out.

Me too. Actually I liked what they did through Rubber Soul and Revolver, I wasn't a Sgt Pepper's fan. And some of their later stuff was terrible.

That's what their fellow British musicians sure thought at the time, some of them names we know well. They found the Beatles' talent intimidating.
