Suicide is a possibility, as he was obviously depressed. Check out his eyes:The assistant eventually managed to open the door and found Williams clothed, in a seated position and "with a belt secured around his neck, with the other end of the belt wedged between the clothes closet door and the door frame," Boyd said. "His right shoulder area was touching the door, with his body perpendicular to the door and slightly suspended."
You see that same despair in every portrait of him. That method of suicide, though was a little too David Carradine/Kate Spade.
I believe EVERY actor has to sell themselves to become famous. Williams did a LOT of drugs, and his comedy routine was classic manic depression, with screaming fits of fast talking. I never met him, and to the best of my knowledge, never met anyone who met him. So, it's all just suspicion.
