Your linked story speculates that they could be planning on washing away the Wuhan Lab. I'm skeptical of that, cause a fire would be a whole lot easier than flooding a city of 11 million, plus the other cities.
Add to this that China would NEVER want to admit the dam was a failure.
If that dam fails, it's because it failed, not some Chinese plot.
I think it very possible the 3 Gorges will go.
