One thing I meant to add: It’s also tru that Barr, Wray, Sessions, Rosen, and more are all highly committed to restoring the reputation of DOJ and FBI and all the noise about “get rid of the FBI” and such is just nonsense. In no way would they or should they do that, these are essential elements of the executive branch and have continued to do many things very professionally and with integrity.
The job is to weed the garden, not plow it under and salt it. No doubt the job is not completed yet but major strides have been made and yes, many new procedures and policies were needed and have been put in place. Reform and replacement of bad apples with good ones are part of the process that must continue, in addition to investigatin and prosecuting those who have broken laws.
We all know the higher up you go in any organization the more “cover” those in charge have and the more wiggle-room they have to do things that would get an underling fired. Some of our laws are very lax and outdated and need to be corrected, as simple as the use of mobile devices and retention of records, for example, ought to carry much heavier penalties after seeing how casually they are treated. Enforce existing rules, implement new ones, increase penalties for violations, it should not be a difficult concept - especially in the nation’s highest law enforcement agency.
I think Trump’s second term is going to be a doozy. I know he wants to dismantle some fed agencies, merge some, reduce tremendously, clean out, hot high colonics, etc. Gonna be FUN!
