Reason number 47 I have never used an ATM or a debit card.
I used my debit card to lease a car from Enterprise a couple of years ago. The day after I returned from my trip, and had dropped the car off, my checking account was hit with a $500 purchase for sports equipment from a NY Company. I think my card number was used by someone at Enterprise. It wasn't the same Enterprise I had picked the car up from because my car had been previously towed to my mechanic's prior to my trip. I dropped the rental off at the Enterprise near him, and picked my own car up, then went home. Thankfully I was able to resolve the fraudulent transaction myself. The company the purchase was made through cancelled the order, and refunded the money. Now when I travel out of state, I never use my debit card for anything. And since I traded in my 15 year old Nissan last fall for a new leased Nissan, I don't have to rent a car anymore to visit my youngest son who lives out of state.
