I think what is important is the over riding principles...I am mainly conservative. I have a libertarian streak. I find that a populist can be an ally but there is no over riding principle for populism so it needs guidance and that is a combination of conservatism and libertarian principles with populism being a motivator not a guiding principle.
Populism is fickle, its whatever the mob wants at the current time. And basically populism is relative pandering to the mob’s current demands and whims.
