I wodner if other, non steroidal Asthma meds will work like Albuterol- I’ve seen articles stagnation that Albuterol is given to patients with severe covid when in the hospital- but nothing about whether it will prevent people in early stage covid from needing to go to hospitals in the first place

I have a friend who got sick with pneumonia at the end of February, after traveling out of the country. He was wildly sick for a week or more. Fever, aches, chills, cough that developed into trouble breathing. The news about CoVid was just hitting and there were no tests available. He was tested for strep and the flu, and both of those were negative. His doctor gave him a steroid shot, an albuterol inhaler, and an antibiotic. He began to recover finally, and broke his fever about 5 days after starting that treatment. We all think he had CoVid, but I haven’t been back in touch to find out if he’s gotten an antibody test yet.

I got sick in late January and it came on quick. Felt fine that morning, but by lunch I was wheezing. By the time I got home it was a steady cough that wouldn’t produce any phlem. I started taking Mucinex and using abuterol. I missed 2 days of work because the coughing kept me awake. I was coughing for a month and used abuterol nightly before bed.
