Indeed.
During the Quarantine, I watched a two-year old documentary on Smithsonian, and a CDC official said the same thing. She even recommended “masks” and “social distancing” so the term was in use at least as far back as 2018. (It was a 100-Year retrospective of the Spanish Flu)
