No one thinks they are a hater, and few admit to bigotry.
The implication is almost, not yet, “Unlike my neighbor across the street.”
The signs are spreading in my town.
I am tempted to put up the names of white people killed wrongly by the cops, the names of black children killed in this violent upsurge.
They matter too.
They all matter, but how do you get your foot in the door with bigots?

When one is confronted by a sign that says:
“I AM NOT A HATER”
it implies:
“But YOU are.”
