“The decadence of Huxley’s world combined with the surveillance of “1984”.”

I have a tape of an old radio dramatic rendition of Brave New World, made around 1956. The drama is introduced by Huxley himself, and he said he wrote the novel as a warning. He also said his big mistake was placing it too far into the future. He said it was probably close up.
