She apparently did USO appearances, like Robin Williams, Gary Sinise, Kid Rock, and others have done. I admire her for that if true.

And yes, I believe she was Travolta's "beard." That has been common knowledge in Hollywood for decades. I don't know why she chose that, but that was her choice. Perhaps they had a dual relationship. Again, don't know, but it's water over the bridge now.
