What I remember about Sessions is that when everyone else in the Trump administration was backing down and going all apologetic about "separating families" of illegal immigrants, Sessions was the only one with the courage to defend a self-evidently sensible policy that may have deterred further illegal immigration: when you go to jail, you don't get to take your kids with you.

Sessions isn't personally loyal to Trump, but he is loyal to a conservative, nationalist agenda. I've seen nothing from this Tuberville guy to suggest that he stands for the same things. If I were in Alabama, I would be supporting Sessions.
