Wow, this is the first I’ve heard of this. I watched the 10PM news and didn’t even hear them mention it.
I’m obviously politically biased but I think it was the right decision. I get the feeling that Trump’s decision won’t be popular in the core cities of Mpls and St Paul but those areas were never gonna vote for him even if he agreed to the aid request - and then tripled the amount.
I’m in a GOP leaning third ring suburb of Mpls and I don’t think the riots played well out here. I can’t speak for the soccer moms but most guys weren’t down with what happened.
Of course, we all know how the local media will twist this but Trump’s gotta make it clear that the responsibility for the clean-up and rebuilding rests solely on the shoulders of Mpls and St Paul.
