In my experience looking at bookfinder.com there is always someone asking $249 or more for some book (on up to $999).
And sometimes based on the high price listing for some random book from the 70s 80s 90s or more recent, they ALL start asking $129 for it.
But if you consider amazon resale, you can list everything in your library/shelf and if it manages to sell at some inflated price you can almost certainly replace it for less if not immediately at some point if even necessary
That happens with model kits too. Someone told me there is an algorithm that will inadvertently jack the price up.
