For most of this year I have been watching people show their Dollar Tree hauls on Youttube to see what I might want if my store ever gets them in stock. About 2 months ago several started showing a 2 pack of disposable masks and I told myself I would buy one pack if they did get them here.

Well as soon as I walked in the store this morning they had the masks where they usually have special buys. So I grabbed one and looked at the package, and to my surprise they were not from China but Mexico.

At home I opened it and tried one on. Less than 30 seconds of it on and I was having issues breathing and my face was very hot. They will be modified in the event a mask is required to be worn in my area.

Our Walmart got masks in last week. 3 different boxes of 25 from different areas of China for about $18 and a bag of 50 for $30.

The also sell single made in USA reusuables for $7.50 with supposedly a “portion” donated but the box didn’t say how much. They also have a two pack of reusable for $4. These were in the fitting room/ accessories like belts and gloves area. The 2 pack made in El Salvador I think.

With my various health issues I probably should wear a mask but with only 3 known cases in my county I will take my chances.

To be honest I would not wear one even if I could.

I live in a blue state, and went over the border to a red state today, and the prevailing attitude I saw is MY attitude:

Outside, wear a mask, or don’t. Your life. Your choice. If a business requests a mask, you put it on and go in, or...go somewhere else. No problem. If you feel you are at risk, quarantine and protect yourself.

It was refreshing.

I work in Health Care, and I have been getting vaccinations for years, no questions asked, washing my hands dozens of times a day, taking precautions where needed, as much as is needed.

That is my choice, and my preference. If I can have a yearly vaccine mandated for employment, and in all the years it has helped avoiding even one person getting sick who came to my hospital to get better, it is worth it.

If I didn’t feel that way, I could leave. But I understand that attitude isn’t shared by others. But it is mine.

Ugh — You Tube - forgot to fix.

It just seemed odd that all of a sudden all of these masks are available. I hope it is just because they supplied the states that have mandatory mask orders and larger population areas already.

Glad I have been stocking up but still have several items to replace. I only drink bottled water but we really don’t have the space for more than a week or so supply. I drink at least a gallon a day and use another gallon in my cool mist humidifier.

I will not get any vaccine or shot for this or anything else.

Most stores I have visited in the last week, now have individually wrapped disposable masks for sale. Some have washable masks for sale.

Since the pandemic hit, I have not one seen any surgical masks on the shelf in any CVS stores. I kind of think that CVS has told their store customers “FU”, so that CVS can focus on delivering mask shipments to organizations. And you thought CVS was there for “you.”
