U.S. Army Soldier Sentenced to Life in Prison for Aggravated Sexual Assault

I know it's a cliche but the Army really is a microcosm of American society and, unfortunately, that includes some bad actors.

What 95% of Americans lose sight of is that, ALL MILITARY AND ALL POLICE, SHERIFF DEPUTIES, etc., come from the mainstream American society. We don't just put in an order and get these people in the mail. All come from normal American society. We get the good, the bad, and the ugly from society. You get good people and you get bad. That is what military basic training and police academies are for, to weed out the bad before they get into positions of responsibility. There are lots that get through the systems. Sad, but true. p So, these types of things will always happen. No getting around it. Bad will happen. That is the issue with mankind, sin. GOD says that we have an issue we cannot deal with, it takes faith in HIM to defeat it. So, it is not going to stop on our part, we are the problem. The bad will always come out of the woodwork. It won't stop until He returns and takes care of it. I personally don't think that that day is that far off. I believe we are in the Last Days of this human exsistence. Days, months, years, maybe, but we are in the Last Days, the Bible says so.

When I hear people say that completely sexually integrated military units are possible, even desirable, they usually say something like “There are rules and regulations in place to prevent fraternization, sexual relations, and accompanying favoritism or power abuse.”

I usually point to things like this. That fact that men from all walks of life, from the top to the bottom of the power structures and ranks, will consistently disregard any rules, regulations, or anything else because the sexual drive and desires in Humans are so strong that many men will throw it all away-ALL of it, their country, marriage, reputation, job, even their life for sex.

It is why sex is one of the most widely used and highly effective tools used to entrap someone for espionage or extortion purposes.

And why I am opposed to a fully sexually integrated military. I don’t care how many rules are put in place, even if they put the death penalty in place, people would still break the rule for sex.

I am opposed, on operational and mission capability, morale, sustainablity, and operational readiness, but this fight has been fought and is over.

Your right. 100% right. If I can remember right, I think there was one captain, one lieutenant, at least two sergeant's first class (E-7) drill sergeants, and at least four staff sergeants (E-6) involved, if I remember right. There were at least four to six females involved. EVERYONE of the E-7s and the officers were married. I think most of the E-6s were married, but I remember at least one was not because even after he got kicked out of the Army, he and the girl, who also got canned, got married!!

All those years, some combat tours in Vietnam were involved by the senior NCOs and all gone for that crap. Even cost them their wives as well. Their families lose as the wife loses her ID card, thus medical, PX, commissary and eventual retirement of those same things when hubby retired. But, she and the kids lose all that also. Your entire family has no medical, boom, gone!! Very sad, but also very stupid of them. To get the hots for much younger women that cost them their careers.

I think it was two of the E-6s who got to their defense attorneys first and the defense attys came over and offered that they would deal to spill the beans on the entire mess. They did not get Court-Martialed, but did get put out under what the Army calls a Chapter 10 discharge instead of going to court and maybe getting a dishonorable or bad conduct discharges with a conviction. They received Other Than Honorable Discharges with the Chapter 10s.

They were hid away in a safe house on post while our prosecution attys drilled them and got all the info from them. I had to go to their unit to get their clothes and uniforms out of their rooms at the barracks and when I left, I was followed, someone trying to find out where they were. I drove off post and circled back around and they were like two cars back. I stopped at the gate and told the MPs who I was and I was being followed, etc., to stop that car and just hold it while I drove back onto post. They did and that is how I got away from them.

My bosses hit the roof when I got back and passed THAT on!!! I don't know what they thought they were going to do if they did find out where they were, try to harm them??? Don't know. But my colonel, the head legal guy on post, the Post Staff Judge Advocate, moved fast to get those cases to trial after that. He even had me draw a .45 pistol and be armed when I was moving from our offices to the safe house. Then one of my attys was followed shortly after that when he left the office. He just drove around and came back to the office. This was pre-cell phone days, so you couldn't call for help. So, it was getting pretty hairy there for a couple of weeks.
